SageTV

Post by [JiF]Mike »

Anyone use SageTV? I'm giving it a try after using BeyondTV for years and so far think SageTV is light years ahead BTV. If you use SageTV what plugins do ya suggest I take a look at?

I haven't used it although had been thinking of going with Beyond TV.

If you're considering BeyondTV and haven't bought it yet, then do yourself a favor and check out SageTV b4 you spend the money. Like I said, I've been using BeyondTV for years and SageTV is light years ahead of it. I'm still in trial mode, but plan on buying it soon. The trial is fully functional, just has a nag screen when u start it up.

I was using ATI's software that came with the ATI Wonder 650 PCI tuner card. The software it came with is crap. I'm at a bit of a crossroad with the 650 PCI though. It will pick up HDTV from over the air signals but not from a cable box. Supposedly the 650 PCI Express will, but not the plain ole PCI version.
