Gamer Keyboard
I got a Barnes and Noble gift card for Christmas. An obvious attempt to teach me to read
Well it won't work I ordered this instead:
MERC Gaming Keyboard Clicky
Seems to have good reviews from the few I read.

Re: Gamer Keyboard
Wow, nice but a bit wide for my desk, the mouse won't have any place to move anymore

Re: Gamer Keyboard
Looks to be along the same lines as the Wolf Claw II, which I've
had for a few years...and love it.

Re: Gamer Keyboard
I have a Wolf Claw also, but I don't think it is the same version you have, Step. I have two keyboards plugged into my PC. I use the 'normal' one for everyday tasks and the Wolf Claw for gaming. It puts less stress on my left hand.[JiF]Stepovich wrote:Looks to be along the same lines as the Wolf Claw II, which I've

Grimp thinks his is better because he is in a hallucinogenic state from eating all those toxic little hot dogs.
So how do you like the keyboard, Grimp?

Re: Gamer Keyboard
It came today. I have not seen it, but I had Doc open it and his says it looks pretty cool. Only about 3 inches longer that my existing keyboard and it has a panic button. I need a panic button. Maybe I can program it to spin in circles and shoot He says the layout looks very functional for FPS gaming. I can't wait to try it

I hope so Actually I hear players talking about that stuff, but never paid enough attention to know what they are other than I guess they are exploits. If someone is shooting at me I will hop though Maybe a find and destroy Tissueman button. Never got a chance to install it last night. Maybe tonight

Re: Gamer Keyboard
I'm with Step as I love my Wolf Claw II also. I'm curious to see how well you like it and I might even have to see about getting one for review. I also have this one from Wolf Claw which I like as it turns a plain keyboard into a Wolf Claw II keyboard when I'm away from home.[JiF]Stepovich wrote:Looks to be along the same lines as the Wolf Claw II, which I've

Re: Gamer Keyboard
Ya, know I keep forgetting you review stuff Lonewolf. I should check your site before I get stuff
I installed it this morning, but did not use it yet to game. Software seems easy to use. You can update game setups directly from the Internet in the GUI. Fits okay on my desk with limited space.
I knew the "Home" "Insert" arrow keys, etc... were integrated into the num pad to save space and did not think much about it.
I never realized how much I actually us those and the num pad for normal typing so thats gonna take a bit to get use to.
I have not used the game pad side yet. The angle just to the left looks like it would be natural. However after years of playing off straight in front of me keys it might take some time. I do sometimes turn my keyboard into a similar position or reposition my chair when playing a lot, so maybe it will be okay. My hand does not feel at home on the pad either, but as I said after long years of using a standard keyboard it should be expected. I will probably have to use it a month or so to know. Its not as easy for me to change stuff like this anymore I will try and remember to get back to here after I have used it a while.

Re: Gamer Keyboard
I got to play TF2 with it for a while last night. I was not comfortable with it at all. My fingers kept sliding to the wrong keys.
I was tempted to go back to the regular keys a lot, but did not. I am not writing it off though. It maybe a long while before it will feel natural to use the keys. In game last night I had several times when I needed to go the the setup on TF2 to mute idiots who decided to play music over the in game VoIP. At least twice I still had my finger on one of the game keys when I hit ESC which took me to my desktop. I found that annoying as TF2 takes a long time to come back when you ALT-TAB to the desktop. Still its a learning issue but was very annoying. All in all I could play okay, but in panic situations I tended to get the keys messed up and do something stupid like bring up the player setup menu or push the taunt button and get fragged One of the issues maybe the W A S D keys are pretty large. In the long run they may be good, but being use to smaller cupped keys is throwing me off.

Re: Gamer Keyboard
I had the exact same issue Grimp!
Took a while to get used to an actual ergonomic config. after years
of twisting my fingers to accomodate my "normal" keyboard.
But after some perseveration, it payed off...and my wrist doesn't hurt anymore
when I play a lot.
You'll love it once you get adjusted.

Re: Gamer Keyboard
It will take a while to get use to it but once you do you will never want to go back to a regular keyboard for gaming again. Now I just need to find something that will help out with the sore fingers and thumb from holding the mouse for a period time after gaming.
