E6850 vs. Q6600

Post by [JiF]rIot »

I'm upgrading the pc this winter seeing as single core has become obsolite. I'm struggling between these two processors, any opinions that favor one over the other. I plan on overclocking as well...

Go with the price. The E6850 will still be good in 2 years, even if the technology will fly. If you want to spend, go with th Q6600 but your eyes will never see the 40fps difference between the 2.

If the prices are the same, it's up to the price of the MB to accept them with the most upgrade possibilities then.

LoL, then go for the the Quad, it's got more potential for future upgrades. And you won't be able to buy beer with the money you save since you won't save any !

If I wasn't stuck with the intel I have now (Core 2 Extreme x6800) I would stick AMD...

...And the AMD is cheeper...but thats just what I would do :?
