I Broke the Server

Post by [JiF][AARP]Grimp »

Sorry, but I broke the server trying to modify maps :( Yes I even said to Jimbo I should copy the files someplace else before I did it.
Yes, I did not copy the files over first.
The good news is I wanted to reinstall it anyway.
Hopefully it won't take too long

Hey man, we appreciate what you're doing.. and in all honesty.. after last night I almost felt obligated to bring up that the server crashed 3 times in about 60 mins of play. I know we'd talked about the server being glitchy in other threads, and last night we were running at capacity for users, and she kept tapping-out on us. This may just be a blessing in disguise! Thanks again for all of your work.

I turned on the BF Vietnam server, so something will be running until I get the other fixed.
I have no idea if it actually works or is up to date.

Well the BFV server does have the WWII mod installed so you can play Wake with flame throwers :)

I'm sure there are other BFV servers left somewhere on the planet. We gotta keep one of the hundred or so BF1942 servers up and running. :D

BFV was my most favorite of all the BF's, I love the helicopters and planes (and the traps)

Someone doesn't like Berlin..
I haven't played BF42 in a so long (because I broke both my CD's somehow.. time for a flea market adventure!!) but if I recall correctly. I always like Berlin because it was a city-ish type map... or am I thinking of Leningrad/Stalingrad ... wow, it's been a while..

Are you talking standard Berlin or the CTF version. If you get too many in CTF can get difficult. Especially playing Allies where Axis has direct line of sight from a distance to pound with tanks while someone takes the flag. I love the normal verion running round city as long as no lag.
Rhykin you are right Stalingrad is city map too!

Berlin itself is a good map, but CTF can take up to an hour and a half!
