another way to get banned

Post by rubber bullets »

I started the spawn killing thread, not asking for a rule change but asking for an explanation.
I singled out Brick because he's an accomplished professional at the task and as such I told him that I have little fun while he's playing.
To me spawn killing and base-raping takes away from the game, and I still maintain my disgust of the tactic.
All I wanted was an answer to a simple question: Why?
The enforcement of TKing is more than admirable, but base-raping is legal. Why?

No answers came, just a locked thread and some PMs full of defensive attitude.
I responded in kind, and now I am banned.
Someone must have gone through log files to find the cd key associated with the name 'rubber bullets' as you do not need your key register here.

Lesson to all: to queston the ethics of JIF is akin to asking "why " in church.

The result is ex-communication.

Cheers!

It is news to me that you were banned. I'm assuming you are getting a banned and not a disconnected message. I'll get back to you when I get it sorted out.

It seems that our server is down. That could be why you can't connect.

Don't assume, it makes an ASS out of U and ME.
Or maybe just an ASS out of ME.

The network to the server is down at the moment. Once I get it fixed I will check the ban logs and let you know.

Well, let's see...
rubber bullets wrote:Why do you allow jerks in tanks to kill whilly nilly on untakeable bases?

It suggests cowardice or an enjoyment of shooting fish in a barrel.

Ethics aside I think you folks run a wonderful server.
rubber bullets wrote:I still think it's lame.
If the best you can do is sit on an untakeable base with a tank blasting people as they appear you must be some kind of loser in life.
As I've said before I like this server for the ping and map rotation, but sometimes the jerks turn me off so much I won't play for weeks. ...
The posts about were your first ones here. Looked to me, right from the start, that you were doing a fine job of making an ass out of yourself without anybody elses help.

Now, round 2...

More of the same insulting drama.

I wonder if you'll come back and say sorry for accusing us of banning you from the server when it turns out the server is just down tonight.

I'm tempted to lock this thread and ban you from the server & forums because you've been nothing but an dork so far. I'll leave it open for a bit, enjoy the fact that it's almost Friday, and see what happens. You should consider yourself warned, though - we're mostly an adult crowd and the drama act doesn't get you points here.

I have exported the ban logs while I happened to be in the room with the server fixing the network. I don't see your name there. If you were playing under a diff name and either post it or PM me I will see if your on the list and if possible find out why.

Anyway the server will be coming back online in a bit.

Just to let you know the server automatically will ban someone after being kicked a few times. I think the number is 6. Although I don't really like the way it does that (you could TK a bunch of bots and get banned after a while) its a precaution against someone coming on and TK and continually coming back for more without an admin catching it. If that's the case it is logged as an automatic ban and is easily corrected if we are notified. All bans made by admins are logged and the admins name is recorded. It will only log a reason if the admin specified it.
The info that the server auto kicks and bans is announced on the server at regular intervals.

I think this is over. People who want to play BF42 should go play BF42. I'll probably be on sometime this weekend. Today I'm going to the Lotton Glass Studio to look at shiny stuff. Tonight I take grandkids to Steak and Shake where I'l tell them long boring stories about what we did before video games. We'd run around the yard with sticks shooting at each other. Never had to worry about TK's back then.

No but lots of Team wounding and ''pow you dead'', ''no you dead'', ''I'll tell my dad'', ''Ha'', ''my dad'll lick your dad'' and so forth 'till we'd all sit down with a hot cocoa in front of a black and white tv.

Fire down wolfy or no more Alpo? LOL!

I agree with cannedcorn it is just a game and it's suppose to be all in fun, but if you get frustrated take a break and come back when you've composed yourself, don't jump to conclusions or go off have cocked.
