Headset

Post by [JiF][AARP]Tissueman »

My headset is beginning to die. Any reco's for a replacement? I'm using an Altec Lansing with volume control on the cord. I like that option.

FWIW I still use my Sennheiser PC135 Gaming headset and love it. I don't use the USB anymore and it's still great (the USB was detachable) tho if you have a sound card then you probably don't want to spend the extra jack for USB.

Oddly enough that is pricier than the PC151 that's newer:

Still gets great reviews and at $40 after shipping you probably can't go wrong. Looks like the 151 may not be size adjustable so maybe don't get it if you have a small head (complaints about it falling off).

Ive had many headsets in my gaming career, and none have even held a candle up to these:

I guarantee you without a doubt that these will be one of the most comfortable headphones and best sounding that you have ever had for that price. I give these 6 out of 5 stars!!!

I have the Plantronic USB digital headset DSP-400.

Has the volume AND mute button on the cord... :)

Foldable and comes with a little draw string padded baggy... ;)

I still use a Logitech Digital Precision PC Gaming Headset. They are a little bulky but they work well and if I want I can hear my wife talk to me through them :D They have also held up better than any set I have had so far. Prolly gonna last me a long time to come, unless I run over the cable with my chair. Some don't like the way they feel on their ears, but they don't seem to bother me.

I went with the Sennheiser PC151. It arrived yesterday. I'm really pleased with the sound quality. I didn't realize how bad my old one had gotten. I was tired of the right channel dropping out, but the sound quality wasn't as good as this one I discovered. My old set could switch the mic to either side, but I won't miss that. Since I have a large block head I don't have to worry about it falling off. I picked it mainly because it was cheaper than the other offerings and I'm frugal.

You'll probably be surprised how much better you sound to other people too. The mike's on these things are excellent.
