BTW I live around 10 miles away from the Circuit City in question. I work in downtown Cleveland and live in a place called Brecksville (15 miles south). Brooklyn is about halfway. I've shopped at the BB and a bunch of other stores around there but never the CC and I can't recall ever being checked. My guess is this guy is leaving out some stuff in his description of the day's activities. I can swing by that CC and double check to see if they have their policy posted.
That isn't to say what happened is right or legal (IMHO he will probably win his case - Ohio is pretty good about these things) but I think this is probably a case where someone behaved like a shoplifter knowing full well that he would get searched and could get some hits on his blog (and cayash) for fighting the man. The fact that he put his family through this makes me lose most of what would otherwise be sincere support.
But that's just me.
