I personaly thought StarCraft was much better game than WarCraft and WarCraft II. BroodWars was nice addition too. I was disapointed in Blizzard anounced title World of WarCraft. I thought there was enough spells and swords and orcs out there in MMOs.

The SLB upgrade is supose to be instant spawn at the time of body deteriation. Where before was with in the 15 seconds cycle.

SLB upgrade is worth it and like you said is passive. It is lucky for you guys now to work for the SL Gold with that upgrade. Think about how it was for me to get 30 without it. I am a fan of acoustics and instrumental music. The BF2142 soundtracks are really good. I came across free, downloadable MP3 for the soundtracks of BF2142 in the eLink utility. If you like the music too. Check it out and download them.

Don't think the APM is going to make them any less useful.
